To say that the race for autonomous transportation has been heating up would be a gross understatement. By now, all companies that aim to be leaders of the autonomous car action have already established their presence.

 

This is not a race that can be won by sprinting alone. It is a team relay where partnerships are formed, batons passed, and every member has a key and complementary role to play in order to reach the goal.

NetSpeed Systems and Inside Secure are active players. We have been diligently working on our products to provide a complete solution for automotive needs and a smooth insertion into the automotive flow.

Abstract: The automotive market is undergoing a huge disruption, and technology leaders such as Google and Tesla progress at a high-tech pace - driving traditional car-makers to accelerate or die, in an urgent wake-up call. Every system on the car goes through a revolution, decisions are shifted from mechanics to software, communication becomes intelligent, and extends the car infrastructure widely. However, each evolved element becomes exposed to attacks and creates a security risk. Inside Secure addresses this with its multiple Product Lines, all focused in security.  All Product Lines share a consistent approach in their integration into Automotive products.   Ron will go over the various Product Lines and how they are currently integrated by Automotive Tier 1s, OEMs and Technology Leaders in the Automotive space.​

  • 10:10-11:00 - Architecting the Most Advanced Automotive SoCs: Co-Maximizing Safety and Performance - by Rocco Jonack, Sr. Field Architect, NetSpeed

Abstract: Next generation automotive SoCs have to deliver exploding performance to handle real-time processing of sensor data while ensuring ultra-high safety and security. Architecting those SoCs to include heterogeneous architectures with built-in cache coherency, better latency, end-to-end QoS, and FuSa (ISO 26262)-performance-area trade-offs is a major challenge for architects. The lecture takes you through a proven methodology using the only ISO 26262 certified cache coherent interconnect fabric in the market.

  • 11:20-12:10 - Intriguing aspects of Key Provisioning and Circuit Camouflage - by Ron Cocchi, CTO, SypherMedia International

Abstract: We address two technologies for enhancing security in ICs.  First, we present a third-party BlackBox Programming Service that is useful to IC manufacturers, operators, broadcasters, CE companies and CAS/DRM vendors wishing to add additional security to their systems. This provisioning service provides a hardware root of trust for strong authentication of third-party secrets, which enables a customer to manage symmetric and RSA keys used for protecting their data and Intellectual Property. Next, we present a method to protect IC designs through the development of a ‘camouflage’ foundry std. cell library.  This library is a collection of physical design and layout techniques that has evolved over 20 years and has been designed in silicon technologies down to 14 nm.  This development requires no foundry process changes and is 100% CMOS compatible.  This technology protects a fabricated circuit from being reverse engineered, cloned and copied by potential attackers and extends the security life of such products..

  • 12:10-13:00 - Hands-on Tutorial: Architecture Validation for Interconnects with Automotive-specific Requirements - by Rocco Jonack, Sr. Field Architect, NetSpeed

Abstract: The tutorial shows how to use NoC Studio to perform architectural trade-off analysis for designs in the automotive application space. After introducing some basic architecture options, we will analyze the impact of adding functional safety features. The different architecture choices include evaluating cache model architecture, the impact of functional safety features in the overall design flow and how QoS impacts the architecture choices. For each of the architectures we will show the flow to generate the interconnect structure using NoCStudio and how to use NoCStudio's performance simulator capabilities to analyze the impact of the change..

Rocco Jonack, Senior Field Architect, NetSpeed Systems

Rocco holds a master in EE from the RWTH Aachen and has more than 20 years of experience in SoC design, ranging from HW design and architectural modeling to virtual platform modelling. He has joined NetSpeed in 2016. Prior to NetSpeed, Rocco worked at Intel on modeling of VP models for SW validation. Before Intel he has been working with Sonics on interconnect modeling and implementation. In his earlier career, Rocco has worked for Synopsys and Sican in various positions

Ron Keidar, Senior Field Architect, Inside Secure

Ron Keidar is a security architect, expert in HW security, Internet of Things, Key Management, Content Protection, and more. Out-of-the-box thinker, enthusiastic innovator with 30 Patents. Before joining INSIDE-Secure Ron worked 20 years with Qualcomm in security architecture, and later on co-founded a startup focusing on IoT Security and IoT Security startup. With INSIDE Secure, Ron works with customers on tailoring security solutions to their needs based on INSIDE Secure rich HW IP and SW toolkits portfolios. Ron holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Dr. Cocchi is a founding partner of SypherMedia International, a multi-million dollar technology company specializing in cutting edge technologies to develop comprehensive security solutions.
